The central theme of Easter is death or, more precisely, Jesus’s
triumph over death.
This is also the core of our faith. In partaking to the covenant
with God, in accepting Jesus into our life, we are committed to putting our
worldly self to death and embracing the birth of our spiritual self. Our worldly
existence takes on a whole new meaning that we live not for the sake of
satisfying our selves but to serve God and others. We no longer fear death, for
we know, from the experience of Jesus, that death does not have a grip on us if
we entrust our life to the power of God.
To have this sort of faith is not easy at all. Even the son of
God had His moments of doubt before His demolition of death and rise to eternal
glory. But Jesus on the cross has shown us, in flesh and blood, that it can be
done.
